A 66-year-old woman was speechless after the ‘genuine kindness’ of a young stranger.
Kate Drew was walking down Seabank Road in Wirral on her way to a friend’s house on Monday evening when she fell down onto the pavement cutting her hand open.
Kate, who lives in Wallasey, said she had been so upset by Sunday's episode of ITV's show Anne that she had arranged to go to a friend's house for Monday's episode, which is where she was heading to when the incident occurred.

She told the ECHO: “In truth, I was really upset watching Anne on TV on Sunday that I didn't want to watch it on my own Monday, so I was walking to a friend's at about 8.30pm.
“While I was walking along the street it was really dark and I fell onto the pavement - hurting myself quite a lot.
“Next thing, a car stopped next to me and a young man got out and literally picked me up off the floor."
The fall caused Kate to cut her hand which was “bleeding a lot” as well cuts to her knees, but she was most upset that she had damaged a Christmas present bought for her.
The Wirral woman added: “I was given a pair of Levi's jeans as a present for Christmas and I got a hole in them which I was most upset about.
"My bag spilled out everywhere but the man went and got my phone which had slid all the way along and I hadn't even noticed..
"He picked it up and put it in my bag for me and helped get me up."
Kate said the 'kind boy' insisted on giving her a lift to her friends despite her refusal and stayed with her until he was sure she was okay.
Kate said: “He wanted to take me, insisted on giving me a lift! He said he'll stay with me and offered to call someone for me to let them know.
"When you have a fall, it is just horrible - so horrible, but he was just such a kind, kind boy and I'm massively grateful he was there."
The pensioner said this isn't the first fall she has had and her last incident left her with a broken arm.
At the time Kate said she was ‘so upset and shocked’ that she didn’t feel like she had thanked the young man properly, so she took to Facebook in a bid to reach out and send her appreciation to him.
Writing about the event on social media, she wrote: “I would like to thank the young man who got out of his car (red) and picked me up after I fell on Seabank Road last night.
"He picked up my phone and put it in my bag for me and was very kind , offering to call someone for me.
"Thank you so much."
Kate said she felt obliged to tell people about the act and highlight the kindness of the stranger as it was 'not something everyone would do'.
Fortunately, Kate's post worked and the Samaritan in question reached out.
Kate added: “The man reached out and said it's not a problem, 'no need to thank me' as it was just what anyone would do, but that's where I disagree.
"Not everyone would stop their car and get out. There are a lot of people who would drive past and carry on and not give me another thought.
"I'd like to think my boys would stop and help an old lady, but I was just shocked at such kindness and massively grateful for him being there."
People from across the borough flooded the comment section with praise for the "star" who came to Kate's aid.
One person branded the man a "true gent" and others were grateful he was there at the time to help the 66-year-old.
