Woman, 66, fighting for life in hospital after roundabout smash

A 66-year-old woman is fighting for her life in hospital after a crash in Birchwood on Tuesday (August 30). The incident, which involved one vehicle, saw emergency services rush to the scene on Ordnance Avenue.

And another man, the driver, aged 68, is also in hospital with serious injuries, with the 68-year-old female passenger currently in a critical condition. The crash was reported shortly after 10am on Tuesday, by the roundabout on the stretch of road.

Police are now appealing for information following the serious collision. Anyone with any footage or any witnesses are being urged to contact Cheshire Police.

Paramedics and police raced to the scene and took the two casualties to hospital after the crash. Further details about the nature of the incident have not yet been confirmed.

Sergeant Andy Dennison, of Cheshire Constabulary said: “I’d urge anyone who witnessed the collision but has not yet spoken to police, or anyone with dashcam footage, to get in touch.”
