Woman, 63, dies after being hit by car on rural road

A woman has died after being hit by a car in Powys.

The incident happened on the B4398 near the village of Llanymynech on Friday, November 6.

According to police, a BMW car was in collision with a 63-year-old female pedestrian at around 3.30pm.

The woman, who has not been named, died at the scene, and police are now appealing for witnesses to the fatal collision.

A spokeswoman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “We are investigating a road traffic collision which occurred at approximately 3.30pm, Friday November 6, on the B4398 road, at Carreghofa, south of Llanymynech village.

“A BMW X1 and a pedestrian were involved in the collision. Sadly the pedestrian, a 63-year-old female, died at the scene.

"Anyone travelling along this road, who witnessed the collision, is asked to contact PC Cross 609 at Newtown Police Station, either online, by e-mailing contact centre@dyfed-powys.pnn.police.uk, or by calling 101.”
