Woman, 63, arrested after trouble flares at funeral wake in Midlothian pub

A 63-year-old woman was arrested and given a police warning following a disturbance at a pub in Midlothian which was hosting a funeral wake.

Police were called to the Polton Inn in Lasswade on Wednesday evening after reports of a customer causing a disturbance.

The officers spoke to her about her conduct but she refused to calm down and became abusive.

The woman was arrested and given a warning on the spot.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "A 63-year-old woman was issued with a recorded police warning for a breach of the peace following a disturbance at a licensed premises on Wednesday evening."

Recorded police warnings are given at police discretion for low-level offences committed by adults. It is an alternative to prosecution through the Crown Office and the courts.
