Woman, 61, was grazed but not shot in South Chicago, police say

A 61-year-old woman who appeared to be grazed by a bullet Friday was actually not, police said.

The incident happened about 7:15 p.m. in the 8500 block of South Escanaba Avenue, Chicago police said.

Paramedics took her to a hospital for treatment for an apparent graze wound, but police later said that she was not shot.

Police did not elaborate on how she was injured.
