Woman, 60s, mugged while waiting for a bus in Palmerstown

A woman in her 60s was mugged while waiting for a bus in west Dublin this afternoon.

The woman is understood to have been sitting on a wall waiting for a bus in Palmerstown village at around 3pm.

It is believed a car pulled up and the mugger jumped out, grabbing the woman's bag and dragging her to the ground.

The thief then made their getaway in the car, having taken a sum of cash and other items from the victim.

A garda spokesman told Dublin Live they are investigating the incident.

He said: "There was an incident in Palmerstown village this afternoon at approximately 3pm.

"A sum of cash and other items were taken from a female in her early sixties. No injuries were reported."
