Woman, 60, killed in Hegewisch crash

Two men were also injured in the crash, police said.

She was a passenger in the Toyota Tercel that collided with a Chevy Malibu in the 2600 block of East 126th Place.

A woman was killed, and two men were injured in a crash Friday in Hegewisch on the Far South Side.

About 11:17 p.m., an 18-year-old man driving a Chevy Malibu in the 2600 block of East 126th Place was turning onto a street when it was struck by a Toyota Tercel that was northbound on Torrance Avenue, Chicago police said.

A 60-year-old woman in the Toyota was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where she was pronounced dead, police said.

The 64-year-old man driving the Toyota and the man in the Chevy were taken to the same hospital, police said. The older man in critical condition and the younger man’s condition was stabilized.

Chicago police’s Major Accidents unit is investigating.
