Woman, 60, in hospital after motorcycle crash on double death tragedy road

A 60-year-old woman is in hospital after her motorcycle crashed on the same Ayrshire road where a double death tragedy took place last week.

Emergency services raced to the A713 near Drongan just days after a horror smash claimed two lives near Patna.

A motorcyclist collided with a Vauxhall Corsa on the route around 6.10pm on Monday, July 26.

The woman was taken to Ayr Hospital for treatment.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 6.10pm on Monday, July 26, police were called to a road crash involving a motorbike and a black Corsa on the A713 near Drongan.

"Emergency services attended and the 60-year-old female motorcyclist was taken to Ayr University Hospital for treatment."

It comes after a deadly three-vehicle crash which killed two men and left several people in hospital.

This week, glowing tributes poured in for Kilmarnock music teacher Gary Patterson, 62, who was one of the men who died at the scene. The other, a 35-year-old man, has not been named.

The smash between a BMW 4 series, a black Volkswagen Sirocco and a silver Vauxhall Mokka, left four others injured, including Gary's wife Miriam who was described as 'critical' at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow and daughter Catherine, described as 'stable' in Crosshouse Hospital.
