Woman, 60, dies and second woman injured in two car crash in Lusk

A woman has died following a two car collision in north Dublin early yesterday evening.

The 60-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene following the collision on the R127 at Blake's Cross in Lusk shortly after 6pm.

The driver of the second car, a woman in her 50s, was taken to Beaumont Hospital where her injuries are described as being not life-threatening.

Gardai and emergency services raced to the fatal incident and the road was closed for a time while forensic collision Investigators examined the scene.

The road has since been fully reopened to traffic.

The Coroner has been notified and a post mortem of the deceased woman has been arranged.

Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward and for any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, who were travelling in the area at the time to make this footage available to them

Anyone with information is asked to contact Balbriggan Garda Station on 01 802 0510, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
