Woman, 54, fought man off with walking stick after being dragged to the ground during attempted theft

A 54-year-old woman was dragged to the ground by a man who tried to steal her handbag.

He then kicked the woman in the face but she fought him off with a walking stick and he ran off empty-handed.

The incident happened in St Ann's Well Road, St Ann's, at around 1.40am on Monday, October 28.

Detective Inspector Ruby Burrow, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "The victim was taken to hospital with bruising and she was extremely shaken up by the incident.

"Officers are making enquiries in the area today and we would urge anyone who was in the area at the time, has CCTV or dash-cam footage, to get in touch as soon as possible."
