Woman, 54, dies days after assault in Altgeld Gardens

A 54-year-old woman died Wednesday of complications of injuries from an assault earlier this month in Altgeld Gardens on the Far South Side.

Sharon Grant was pronounced dead at 11:25 p.m. at Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

She suffered multiple blunt force injuries in an assault about 2 a.m. Aug. 14 in the 13200 block of South Langley Avenue, according to the medical examiner’s office.

Chicago police could not immediately provide details on the incident.
