Woman, 53, shot in Rogers Park

The woman was taken to St. Francis hospital where her condition was stabilized.

A 53-year-old woman was wounded in a shooting Saturday in Rogers Park.

About 1:46 a.m., she was about to enter a building in the 1600 block of West Jonquil Terrace when someone opened fire, Chicago police said.

The woman was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston with a gunshot wound to her torso, police said. Her condition was stabilized.

No one is in custody as Area North detectives investigate.
