Woman, 50s, suffers head injuries after being bashed by feral kids who were kicked out of West Dublin library

A Dublin librarian was left bleeding on the ground after a reckless gang kids tried to storm their way in after being kicked out.

An ambulance was called after the woman in her 50s was left with a nasty head injury after the kids as young as NINE ran riot in Ballyfermot Library.

The gang of feral pre-teens were then asked to leave, and after being barricaded out they attempted to force their way back, knocking the poor librarian to the ground.

Co-workers rushed to the woman's side as blood poured from her head while gardai and an ambulance had to be called.

The incident happened at the end of last month, while the injured woman has since returned to work.

She is still said to be shaken by the incident.

Gardai are now following a "definite line of enquiry" and that files will be prepared for consideration under the Youth Referral Programme.

A spokesperson said: "Gardai attended the scene of an incident at a premises on Ballyfermot Road.

"A female aged in her late 50s was knocked to the ground by a number of youths.

"It’s understood the youths had earlier been asked to leave the premises only to return minutes later and knock the woman to the ground as attempted to regain entry.

"The injured party sustained a head injury.

"Gardai are following a definite line of enquiry in the case.

"The youths involved are aged between 9 and 12 years and files will be prepared for consideration under the Youth Referral Programme."

Dublin City Council declined to comment on the incident.
