A woman spent a night in hospital after a broad daylight attack by a young man in Co Kerry on Sunday morning.
The lady, aged in her 50s, was assaulted on Strand Street, Tralee shortly before midday.
The woman was removed to Kerry University Hospital with her injuries, which are thankfully not thought to be life threatening.
Gardai arrested a man in his 20s in connection to the incident - he has since appeared before Tralee District Court.
A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí are investigating an assault which occurred on Strand Street, Tralee, Kerry on the 12 July 2020 at approximately 11:45am.
"A female (50) was taken to Kerry University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
"A male (20s) was arrested and taken to Tralee Garda Station. He appeared before Tralee District Court on the 13 July 2020, charged in relation to this incident."
