A woman has been arrested after a man was stabbed in Newcastle.
Police were called to an address on Darden Lough in West Denton shortly after 7.30pm on Saturday to reports that a man had been assaulted.
When officers arrived, they found that the man had suffered injuries consistent with a stabbing.
The 45-year-old was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition and his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
A 50-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the assault and has been released on bail.
A spokeswoman for Northumbria Police said: "Enquiries into the circumstances around the incidents are ongoing.
