A woman was killed in a shooting Sunday in northwest Indiana.
Authorities responded to a call of shots fired about 3 a.m. in the 1100 block of 115th Street in Whiting, Hammond police said.
While assisting, Whiting police located 40-year-old Deliah Martinez in the front yard of a residence, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.
She had sustained several gunshot wounds, and she was pronounced dead at a hospital Monday afternoon, authorities said. She lived in Whiting.
