A woman was fatally shot Friday in South Chicago, police said.
She was in a vehicle about 8:30 p.m. in the 8300 block of South Yates Boulevard when someone unleashed gunfire, Chicago police said.
The 35-year-old was struck in the head and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, police said.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office hasn’t released details on the death.
Area Two detectives are investigating.
