A woman has died after falling into a meat grinder at a processing plant in Pennsylvania.

Employee Jill Greninger’s body was found by a co-worker who had heard noises coming from the commercial machine.

The 35-year-old may have been standing on a set of wheeled stairs prior to the fatal fall, authorities said.

But it was not immediately clear what caused her to plummet into the machine at her workplace, the Economy Locker Storage Company in Muncy.

Company officials have not responded to media requests for comment following the accident on Monday.

The death is being investigated by the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
