Woman, 34, found dead at Renfrew flat sparking major police response

A woman has died following a major incident at a flat in Renfrew.

Emergency services were called an address on Cardon Square around 11.45pm on Wednesday, May 26.

A 34-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

An eyewitness told Glasgow Live that around 30 police officers descended on the scene and a large police presence remains there today.

A 39-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and the death is currently being treated as unexplained.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers in Renfrew attended at an address in Cardon Square around 11.45pm on Wednesday, 26 May. A 34-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. A 39-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

“Enquiries to establish the circumstances surrounding her death, which is currently being treated as unexplained, are ongoing.”
