Woman, 30, seriously injured after being hit by Mercedes in Hulme

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was seriously injured in a collision with a car.

The 30-year-old suffered injuries police described as 'possibly life-changing'.

She remains in hospital, where officers said her condition was stable.

Emergency services were called to Old Birley Street in Hulme, Manchester, at around 5.45pm on Bank Holiday Monday, December 28.

"Officers were called to a report of a collision on Old Birley Street involving a grey Mercedes AMG A45 and a 30-year-old woman," Greater Manchester Police said in a statement.

Police are appealing for witnesses (MEN)

"The woman suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital, where she remains in a stable condition to be treated for possibly life-changing injuries.

"The driver of the Mercedes remained at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries."

Police are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

"No arrests have been made and officers are encouraging any eyewitnesses or anyone with footage to come forward and aid police with their enquiries," the force added.

Police Constable Andy Graham, of GMP's Road Policing Unit, said: "The pedestrian suffered serious injuries and we wish her well as she continues her recovery in hospital.

"It is important we establish the full circumstances of how this came to be.

"We want to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this collision or have dash cam footage from around the area in the proceeding moments before this incident took place."
