Woman, 30, being treated in hospital after being hit by car in Hulme

A woman remains in hospital after being struck by a car in Hulme.

The incident happened at around 5.45pm on Monday evening on Old Birley Street near Hulme Garden Centre.

Police said a car collided with a 30 year-old pedestrian.

Emergency services attended and the road was closed for several hours between Stretford Road and Phoenix Way whilst they dealth with the aftermath.

The woman was taken to hospital where she remains for treatment today, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said.

Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening a spokeswoman said.

An investigation was underway but no arrests had been made she added.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101.
