(Picture: Wandsworth Council)A woman has died after being struck by a Mercedes as she crossed Wandsworth Bridge.
Police are urging witnesses or drivers with dashcam footage to come forward after the crash at 10.10pm on Wednesday.
The 28-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene just nine minutes later, despite the efforts of paramedics.
Scotland Yard said her next of kin have been informed of the tragic death.
DC Jenny Burr investigating said: “Wandsworth Bridge is a popular and busy route across the Thames and it is likely that people either witnessed the collision, or may have dash-cam footage that could assist our investigation.
“I am appealing to those people to get in touch. Our thoughts are with her family.”
Police said the driver of the car stopped at the scene and is assisting them with their enquiries.
