Woman, 26, killed and another arrested after car hits tree on A4119 at Penygraig

A woman died and another has been arrested after a car crashed into a tree in the early hours of Saturday, police have said.

Police are appealing for information and witnesses following the fatal crash on the A4119 at Penygraig at approximately 3.45am on August 29.

A South Wales Police spokesman said a red Vauxhall Adam struck a tree and as a result, and despite the efforts of emergency services who attended the scene, a 26-year-old woman died.

“A 24-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the incident and currently remains in custody,” the spokesman said.

“We would like to speak with any witnesses to the collision, any person who may have dash-camera footage of the incident, or anyone who witnessed the manner of driving of the Vauxhall Adam prior to the collision.”
