Woman, 25, dies in freak house fall accident

A 25-year-old woman has died after suffering a "blunt force trauma to the head" in a horrific accident.

The young woman is believed to have fallen and died inside a house in Newton-le-Willows.

It has since been confirmed there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.

Merseyside Police said a 57-year-old man had originally been arrested on suspicion of murder, but he has since been released with no further action being taken against him.

A large police presence was present on Common Road on Saturday morning.

A spokesman for the force said officers and paramedics were called to the address at about 10.20am.

The spokesman said: "We can confirm that there are no suspicious circumstances relating to the death of a 25-year-old woman at a house in Newton-le-Willows on Saturday (7 November).

"Officers and paramedics attended the address on Common Road after they were called at around 10.20am.

"The woman’s family has been informed and Family Liaison Officers are providing them with specialist support.

"A Home Office post mortem was carried out which established the cause of death as blunt force trauma consistent with a fall.

"A 57-year-old man from Newton-le-Willows who had been arrested on suspicion of murder has been released with no further action to be taken."
