Woman, 24, hospitalised with serious face injuries after brutal Hamilton attack

A woman was knifed in the face in a early morning street attack.

The 24-year-old was on Kingarth Street in Hamilton when she was approached by man and woman and then attacked with a bladed weapon.

The incident happened at about 3.30am this morning (Saturday, December 21) and the victim was taken to Wishaw General Hospital with a serious injury to her face

Police are appealing to the public for information.

Detective Constable Craig Jolly, of Cambuslang CID, said: “I am appealing to anyone who was on Kingarth Street or the surrounding area around this time who may have witnessed the attack, saw a man and a woman running away or saw any suspicious activity to contact the police as soon as possible.

“I would also ask anyone with dash-cam footage who was driving in the area at the time to check back."
