Woman, 23, 'knocked down and robbed' as she withdrew money in Dalkeith

A young woman was knocked to the ground and robbed as she withdrew money from an ATM in Midlothian, her family says.

The 23-year-old victim was allegedly targeted at Jarnac Court in Dalkeith around 9.30pm on Tuesday night.

A man wearing a shell suit with his hood up is said to have pushed her to the ground and taken her money before running off.

Gemma Chapman posted on Facebook saying: "One of my family members has just been mugged in Dalkeith taking money out of the ATM.

Holyrood Distillery confirmed to open this July with a courtyard marketplace selling food and drink

"This person knocked her to the ground stole her money and ran off. That is assault and theft. A small-ish man in a shellsuit and hood up. This happened approx 9.30pm tonight."

She continued: "I'm honestly so disgusted that this sort of thing still happens. The solution when they can't be bothered working and earning for themselves is to assault young females and rob them?

"Maybe the dirty scumbag only preys on young females but what if it was your granny, who could end up seriously injured or worse, or your mother or daughter he gets next?"
