Woman, 23, dies after police cordon off street due to concern for safety

A 23-year-old woman has died after police were called about concerns for a person's safety in the city centre on Tuesday (May 14).

Emergency services were called to Wollaton Street in the city centre at around 6.05am.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

Wollaton Street and Hanley Street were cordoned off for a number of hours following the incident.

The circumstances are not believed to be suspicious.
