Woman, 19, dies in single-vehicle crash near Adelaide River south of Darwin, say Northern Territory Police

A 19-year-old woman has died today after the vehicle she was driving rolled over on the Stuart Highway south of Darwin, say Northern Territory Police.

In a statement, NT Police said they received a report at about 12:20pm of a single vehicle rollover roughly 10 kilometres north of the small township of Adelaide River.

Police and emergency services attended the scene, where authorities confirmed the 19-year-old woman and sole occupant of the vehicle had lost her life.

NT Police are investigating the crash, and urging drivers to avoid travelling through the area if possible.

A report is being prepared for the Coroner.

It is the first life lost on territory roads this year.

Anyone who was driving along the Stuart Highway near Adelaide River around that time is being urged to contact police on 131 444.
