Woman, 18, killed in horror car crash with three other teenagers in hospital

An 18-year-old has died in a car crash, with three others being left injured.

The accident took place on Friday night along The Mead close to the A350 roundabout, in Westbury, Wiltshire, just before midnight when a silver Ford Fiesta collided with a garden wall and tree.

Wiltshire Police said an 18-year-old local woman, who was a passenger in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, a 19-year-old man, was seriously injured and subsequently taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol and is continuing to receive treatment from medical staff.

The two passengers who were left requiring hospital treatment suffered significant injuries following the impact.

An 18-year-old woman was also taken to Southmead Hospital, while a 17-year-old female was taken to the Royal United Hospital in Bath.

The road where the incident occurred was closed for several hours and reopened this morning [February 6], just before 10am.

Wiltshire Police's Inspector Andrew Lemon said: "This is a tragic incident, and our thoughts are with the girl's family and friends at this extremely difficult time.

"I ask that their privacy is respected and our investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision is ongoing."

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police added: "The vehicle appears to have lost control, left the road and collided with a garden wall and tree.

"At the time of the collision, the Ford contained four occupants. Our investigation continues."

Wiltshire Police are urging anybody who may have information regarding the crash to get in touch on 101, referencing incident log number 347.
