Womad festival: how was it for you?

If you find yourself wandering round today in an unusually meditative state for a Monday, smelling faintly of incense, sipping a chai latte and nodding your head in time to an imaginary drumbeat, chances are you've just emerged from Womad 2012, which took place this weekend.

The festival's 30th year saw some of the biggest names in world music, including Khaled, Femi Kuti, Hugh Masekela and Jimmy Cliff, perform in the Wiltshire sunshine at Charlton Park. The festival came to an end last night with great sets from the Buena Vista Social Club and Robert Plant. Musicians proved their talents away from the stage too, by cooking up a storm in the Taste the World tent (where artists were invited to prepare their favourite dish for festivalgoers). Other attractions included a human library (full of living books), workshops for everything from laughter yoga to pitta-bread making and a whole host of family-friendly activities.

So were you there? What were the best bits for you? Were you seduced by the Manganiyar Seduction? Or entranced by Kimmo Pohjonen's piano-accordion-playing antics? Did you recharge your phone at the pedal-powered charging tent? Did you put on an Angry Birds hat and try to crash Prince Harry's entourage? Tell us about your highlights, be they musical, spiritual, culinary or, er, royal, by posting a comment below, and look out for Robin Denselow's review later on today.
