Wolverhampton Wanderers welcome Manchester United back to Molineux on Tuesday and are hoping to seal back-to-back wins over this opponent for the first time in nearly 40 years.
Nuno Espirito Santi’s side staged a surprise 2-1 win over United the last time the two sides met, but the Red Devils can’t afford a slip in their race for a top-four finish in the Premier League.

Wolves: Wolves advanced to the FA Cup semi-finals following their last win over United and are unbeaten against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side this season, having drawn 1-1 at Old Trafford back in September. The west midlands outfit have managed to avoid defeat against United in successive meetings for the first time since 1980, which also happened to be the last year in which they beat the Red Devils twice in a row.
Man U: Solskjaer’s men recently suffered back-to-back losses for the first time since the Norwegian took charge in December, through Saturday’s grinding 2-1 victory over Watford has them back on track. Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial found the back of the net in Solskjaer’s first match as United’s permanent manager, though it’s the defense that will be on guard at Molineux. United hasn’t managed to keep a clean sheet against Wolves in two meetings this season and will hope for a steelier response in Tuesday’s Week 32 trip.
Tottenham Hotspur’s 2-1 defeat at Liverpool on Sunday left the north Londoners level on points with United and has opened up the chance of finishing as high as third. United will have their chances to climb but could also do with the likes of Spurs and Arsenal dropping some points.
The race for the top four is reaching fever pitch, while seventh-placed Wolves are one of three teams in a tight tussle to clinch the last European qualification spot.
