Wolves vs Man City prediction and odds: Back City to get the job done at Molineux

Manchester City are three wins away from a sixth Premier League title and the layers fully expect the first of them to come at Molineux on Wednesday night.

City are red-hot 1/4 favourites with Betfred to take maximum points from their West Midlands trip, while the hosts are what appears to be a huge 11/1 to cause an upset.

City opened up a three-point lead over Liverpool with a 5-0 romp against Newcastle on Sunday evening and those five goals could easily make a huge difference should this title race go down to the wire. City have the edge on points and on goal difference so it is theirs to lose now.

However, a win at Wolves is no given and Pep Guardiola's side are likely to face stiffer opposition than they did against Newcastle. The visitors have selection issues defensively with Dias, Stones and Walker all now out for the season and that raises the jeopardy levels even further.

Wolves are a tricky side to assess. There xG process is that of a bottom-half side and their goal tally of 35 for the season is lower than any side above the bottom four, but they are the sort of team that can get a result almost anywhere on their day.

Bruno Lage's side were barely in the game at Stamford Bridge but came from 2-0 down with little more than ten minutes left on the watch to stun Chelsea. The Old Gold had lost three on the bounce prior to that, including a drubbing at home to Brighton, which suggested that the Wolves players had clocked off for the season.

But Saturday's second-half comeback has put the brakes on that theory and it would be unwise of City to take this game for granted, especially as they have only won one of their last three visits to Molineux.

Wolves vs Man City prediction

This is tricky because Wolves struggle in front of goal, so much so that they couldn't manage a single strike against Newcastle, Burnley and Brighton prior to their brace at Chelsea.

However, they have scored at least once in the last three editions of this fixture and City aren't going to be anything like full strength defensively. With that in mind, the most appealing wager is to back City to win and both teams to score which is a tasty 9/4 shot.

Recommended bet: Man City to win and both teams to score @ 9/4 with Betfred
