Wolves vs Liverpool: goals from Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk keep Liverpool top
Liverpool moved four points clear at the top of the Premier League after Mohamed Salah inspired them to a deserved 2-0 win at Wolves.
The forward scored his 14th goal of the season before setting up Virgil Van Dijk's clincher in the second half at Molineux.
Jurgen Klopp's unbeaten Reds, who have conceded just seven goals in 18 league games this season, will now top the table on Christmas Day regardless of Manchester City's result against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
In eight of the last nine campaigns the team top at Christmas has won the league - except Liverpool in 2013. Re-live the live action below:
Both teams make two changes from the sides that played last weekend. Wolves bring in Romain Saiss and Adama Traore in place of Morgan Gibbs-White and Jota.
As for Liverpool bring back James Milner and Jordan Henderson as Nathaniel Clyne and Georginio Wijnaldum miss out.
Wolves have beaten Liverpool in two of the last five meetings, with both of those wins coming at Anfield - including in the FA Cup fourth round last year.
However Wolves are winless against Liverpool in four Premier League home meetings, with their only goal a 90th-minute equaliser from Kenny Miller in a 1-1 draw on 21 January 2004.
Jurgen Klopp has been speaking about Wolves, here's what he had to say:
"What they did last year in the Championship, I am not sure that happened too often.
"Very often you go up with this kind of old-school British football - it's a tough league and it makes sense to do it - [but] the only two teams [in] the last few years that did it differently were Huddersfield and now Wolves, so that's unbelievable.
"Then they brought in players again and needed a bit of time so that everything fits. Now they are really strong again, they won the last three; we have to go there and be at our best again."
Wolves will be looking to this man to give them a chance of winning this match.
He has scored in three of his last four matches at Molineux and all five of Raul Jimenez’sPremier League goals, as well as two of his five assists, have come at home.
Liverpool try to attack Wolves from the left-hand side of the pitch. Robertson works with Firmino and Salah to bring the ball into the box before Firmino gets a shot blocked.
Wolves come back at Liverpool as Fabinho makes a mistake that allows Traore to break into space and fire a shot just wide of goal.
Wolves force Liverpool to play the ball back to Alisson in goal who restarts the attack. It's moved out to the left wing quickly and Liverpool win a throw in.
Naby Keita combines with Firmino in the box to try and work a one-two but hits the deck before he receives the pass. The referee lets the game go on and Wolves counter attack quickly again. This time the shot misses to the left.
Firmino certainly isn't afraid to shoot. He wins a corner from a deflected shot and Milner delivers it into the box. The ball falls to van Dijk whose shot is blocked!
Great chance for Wolves! They totally open Liverpool up with an attack from the right. Van Dijk can't get back in time as Saiss runs into the space he leaves behind him and shoots only for Alisson to make the save.
Doherty brings down Keita and Liverpool have a free kick. It's played quickly and crossed. The ball is deflected out to the right wing and Fabinho makes a run to the byline as he collects the ball. He squares it back to Salah who scores with a good finish.
The game is becoming more physical since the goal was scored. Wolves are throwing themselves into challenges and more Liverpool players are hitting the turf. Keita in particular is having a tough time of things.
