Last week Brentford were defeated for the first time this season as Wolves claimed their first victory of the campaign.
Does that have any relevance on today’s game? Yes and no. It certainly points to challenges all newly promoted teams face and Brentford have failed to match the heights of their opening round victory over Arsenal, drawing twice and losing once since and scoring just one goal in the process.
Wolves by contrast have been unfortunate in defeat and three consecutive 1-0 defeats to Leicester, Tottenham and Manchester United did not accurately reflect their performances. A 2-0 win away to Watford last week felt like a turning point and they’ll want to prove that a corner has been rounded with another three points against the league’s newbies.
