Wolves’ chaotic defeat to Leeds United is set to have a direct impact on their next Premier League match, against Nottingham Forest.
Wolves saw two players sent off – including one who wasn’t even on the pitch – during their 4-2 defeat at Molineux on Saturday. Full-back Jonny, the scorer of a spectacular goal to bring Wolves back into the game, was sent off for a dangerous tackle on Luke Ayling and is set to serve a three-match ban, also ruling him out of games against Chelsea and Brentford in addition to the Forest clash.
Manager Julen Lopetegui suggested he would contest the decision straight after the game, but the club have reportedly dropped any plan to appeal.

Unused substitute Matheus Nunes was also dismissed amid Wolves’ angry reaction to Leeds’ fourth goal in the depths of added time, which they felt should have been disallowed for a foul on Adama Traore.
According to the Telegraph, Wolves plan to submit video evidence which they believe will prove the midfielder was not guilty of violent conduct amid claims Nunes was ‘provoked’ by a remark made by assistant referee Gary Beswick. The FA will review referee Michael Salisbury’s report before deciding whether to launch a probe into the stormy scenes.
The defeat increased Wolves' relegation fears, with the April 1 match at Forest (3pm kick-off) now absolutely crucial for both sides. Forest are currently on 26 points and Wolves on 27, both within one defeat of the bottom three.
