Wolves respond to claims that Raul Jimenez should join Manchester United

Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santos claims the club are unfazed by comments made by Mexico manager Gerard Martino that star forward Raul Jimenez should join Manchester United.

Jimenez was linked with a move to Old Trafford in January prior to the signing of Odion Ighalo. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer refused to be drawn on the speculation when questioned following the game against the Midlands side.

Speculation continues to rage on that the 29-year-old is wanted by United though MEN Sport understand he is not a priority target following the extension of Ighalo's loan until January 2021.

Martino suggested that United would be an excellent fit for Jimenez and advised his forward to consider a move to Old Trafford rather than staying at Wolves.

Speaking prior to their game against Sheffield United, Nuno claims he is not fazed by the Mexico boss' comments.

"It's not an issue for us, we have a competition and a game to play," he said.

"We have a lot of things in front of us. It's not the moment to think about anything else. I'm sure Raul is totally, 100 per cent focused on what he has to do at Wolves.

"They are things which you can't control, it's up to you to decide if you pay attention or not. I admire Tata (Martino), he is a big manager, and honestly it doesn't distract us."

Wolves currently sit three points behind United after losing against Arsenal at the weekend which halted their unbeaten streak since the restart of the Premier League.
