Wolves release Raul Jimenez update after head collision with Arsenal’s David Luiz

Wolverhampton Wanderers have confirmed that striker Raul Jimenez has suffered a fractured skull.

The striker was taken to hospital last night during their 2-1 win over Arsenal, after a nasty clash of heads with Gunners defender David Luiz early in the first half.

The club have confirmed that the Mexican striker is in a stable condition and underwent an operation last night in London, with players from both clubs clearly distressed by the nature of the unfortunate incident.

Wolves have released a club statement this morning on Jimenez’s current condition and has thanked Arsenal ’s medical staff, as well as the NHS paramedics, hospital staff and surgeons.

“Raul is comfortable following an operation last night, which he underwent in a London hospital,” a statement from the club website read.

“He has since seen his partner Daniela and is now resting. He will remain under observation for a few days while he begins his recovery.

“The club would like to thank the medical staff at Arsenal, the NHS paramedics, hospital staff and surgeons who, through their skill and early response, were of such help.

“The club ask that Raul and his family are now afforded a period of space and privacy, before any further updates are provided in due course.”
