Wolves have poked fun at the plans for a European Super League by declaring themselves Premier League champions for the 2018/19 season on Twitter.
The Midlands club finished seventh in their first campaign back in the top-flight, behind only the six clubs who have now signed up to the Super League plans.
Alongside Uefa, the Premier League are now considering every action possible in terms of retaliation, with some - including the division's all-time top goalscorer, Alan Shearer - calling for the clubs to be banned from playing in their domestic leagues.
Without the top six sides included in the table for the 2018/19 season, Wolves would have finished highest of the the remaining 14 clubs with 57 points, three ahead of Everton.
The bio on the official Wolves Twitter page now reads: "Official account of Wolverhampton Wanderers. Premier League Champions 2018/19.”

Other Premier League clubs have now come out to condemn the Super League plans, with both Brighton and Everton releasing strong statements on Tuesday.
