Wolves are once again interested in signing Tottenham loanee Carlos Vinicius this summer.
That's according to the Express, who say that Spurs "cannot really afford" to buy the 26-year-old Benfica striker.
Jose Mourinho's side reportedly have an option to purchase Vinicius once his loan deal expires at the end of the season for around £36million.
The Brazilian has struggled for minutes this season with the brilliance of Harry Kane keeping him out of the team.
But Spurs are set to sit down with Benfica at the end of the season to see whether they can sign Vinicius for around £18m - half the original price demanded by the Portuguese club.
If Spurs fail to qualify for European competition next season, then Mourinho's budget will be restricted and largely dependent on player sales, the report claims.
Wolves saw a £54.3m bid rejected by Benfica in January 2020, according to Luis Filipe Vieira - the Portuguese outfit's president.
He said to BTV: "I received an offer of €60m (£53.5m) for Vinicius and did not sell. He is priced at €100m.
"If it weren't for the pandemic, Benfica would have had two players sold for €100m each."
Nuno Espirito Santo's side supposedly returned to the table with a reduced bid the following summer, but that too was rejected.
Now, the report says that the Molineux-based club are once again interested in signing Vinicius and could look to make a move in the summer.
Wolves are keen to sign someone to support Raul Jimenez and take the pressure off the Mexico striker, following his career-threatening skull injury he suffered earlier this campaign.
If Spurs are unable to convince Benfica to allow Vinicius to leave the club for a reduced fee, then Wolves could have a clear path to complete the signing.
