Wolves-Lakers recap: LeBron James gets triple-double in dominant 2nd half

The Los Angeles Lakers had another complete team effort, punctuated by a strong second half as they won their third straight game out of the All-Star break, defeating the Minnesota Timberwolves handily on Tuesday night, 137-119. LeBron James finished with his second straight triple-double to complete a back-to-back with 25 points, 12 rebounds, and 12 assists.

Thanks to LeBron’s play, as well as another great 3-point shooting night as a team, the Lakers survived a combined 58 points from Karl-Anthony Towns (29 points) and Anthony Edwards (29 points). One of the players who helped the Lakers and LeBron shut the door was Montrezl Harrel, whose energy and efficiency on both ends was key to closing out the Wolves.

The Lakers are now 3-0 in the second half of the season and they’re just a few percentage points behind the Phoenix Suns for 2nd place in the Western Conference. While Anthony Davis isn’t expected to come back anytime soon, the defending champs are showing everyone they can handle their business while he works to get healthy.
