There has been widespread speculation that Wolverhampton Wanderers star Helder Costa could leave this summer, with a move to Leeds United on the cards, and other proven players may be joining him through the exit door.
The latest reports now suggest that fellow Portuguese forward Ivan Cavaleiro is also set to depart from Molineux in the summer, as Nuno Espirito Santo plans something of a shake-up with Europa League football to come.
Cavaleiro, 25, only made six Premier League starts last season. Local outlet Express And Star have suggested that he’s been deemed surplus to requirements and will move elsewhere this summer.
After joining from Monaco in 2016, Cavaleiro was an ever-present as Wolves emphatically achieved promotion in the 2017-18 season, and was amongst the best chance creators in the division that season.
But like Costa, he’s struggled for opportunities in the top flight, and they could be limited even further in the future as Wolves are expected to be busy in the transfer market once again.
Fulham and Huddersfield have reportedly been tracking the star, who has two caps for Portugal, but he was also linked with a loan move to Leeds back in January .
Most of Leeds reported transfer targets have been of the wide attacker variety. It remains to be seen whether the club will retain Jack Harrison next season, while Liverpool prospect Ryan Kent has been rumoured as well as Costa.
A potential stumbling block in a deal for either of the Wolves stars would be a hefty transfer fee. Club chairman Andrea Radrizzani has hinted that the club is more likely to utilise the loan market this summer.
