Wolves fan's brilliant St. James' Park joke during Newcastle United clash

St. James' Park's away section is infamous in the Premier League for being up in the gods.

The Newcastle United stadium has a section where the away fans sit - when allowed to - which is very high up.

However, there aren't supporters there at the moment due to the coronavirus pandemic and football currently being played behind closed doors.

But there is some positive news in that regard, with the Premier League planning to allow supporters back into stadiums before the season's conclusion.

Right now, though, the comfort of your own home will have to suffice and one Wolves fan took to this brilliantly.

He mocked the St. James' Park away end by sitting at the top of his stairs, with his laptop - that is broadcasting Newcastle vs Wolves - at the bottom of the staircase, as if he was watching from the away end on Tyneside.

@WiggyWWFC said: "Gutted we can't be in the away end at St. James' Park tonight, so I've improvised. #NEWWOL #WWFC" - with an image attached to the tweet.

The tweet gained plenty of traction, with it being posted just before kick-off on Tyneside.

One Newcastle fan replied: "Hope you walked those stairs 125 times to make it even more real. I had a season ticket up there for five years. Lost 455 stone".

Another said: "Love that mate, hoping you don't enjoy the game that much and see you next season".

Neither side could break the deadlock in the first-half, with Newcastle coming closest through Miguel Almiron - who hit the post.

Allan Saint-Maximin seemed really on it in the opening 45 minutes and the Wolves back-line were struggling to get to grips with the Frenchman's speed and trickery.
