Hamilton Accies have signed defender Luke Matheson from Wolves.
The 19-year-old right-back has signed on a season-long loan and goes straight into the squad for tomorrow's trip to Queen of the South.
Accies fought off competition from clubs down south to seal the Englishman's signature and boss Stuart Taylor has previously worked with him for a short spell during his time as assistant manager at Ipswich Town.
Taylor, who was part of Paul Lambert's backroom team at Wolves in 2016, told Lanarkshire Live Sport : "I'd like to thank Wolves for allowing this to happen.
"It's one we've been working on for a while.
"There was interest from down south, but I think the relationship I've got with the club helped us.
"The player wanted to do it, which is the most important thing.
"He'll be in the squad tomorrow and we are looking forward to working with him.
"I had him down at Ipswich just briefly, but he'll be a good fit for us."
Matheson told the Accies website: " I am over the moon to be here. I have researched the club and I know the great history this club has for developing young players.
"After speaking to the lads and coaches you can see the high ambitions of this club and I am glad to be a part of that.”
