Wolves captain Conor Coady speaks out about Nuno Espirito Santo replacing Unai Emery at Arsenal

Wolves captain Conor Coady has said he understands why Nuno Espirito Santo would be linked with other clubs, amid speculation that he could replace Unai Emery at Arsenal.

The Wolves boss is the current favourite to replace Emery at Arsenal, with the Spaniard sacked after a 2-1 defeat at home against Eintracht Frankfurt.

That result meant Arsenal missed the chance to seal their place in the knockout stages of the Europa League, something Wolves did by claiming a point against Portuguese side Braga.

And speaking after that game, Coady spoke out about the Wolves boss being linked with Arsenal.

“He’s a fantastic manager, he really is, for us and for me, he is one of the best out there," the Wolves captain said, speaking to BT Sport.

Unai Emery on his future

“I think he is going to attract a lot of attention from a lot of big clubs, but I think it is important that we keep him here for as long as possible.

“He has been outstanding for us since he has been at this club, and I think as long as he is here, we will keep improving, so hopefully he stays for many, many years.”

Since taking charge at Wolves, Nuno has guided the Molineux outfit to promotion from the Championship, before guiding them to a seventh-placed finish in the Premier League last season and qualification for the Europa League this season.
