Wolves manager Nuno Espírito Santo is the new favourite to succeed Unai Emery at Arsenal, with reports that the Arsenal board have targeted the Wolves boss at a possible Emery replacement.

The Daily Mail claim that Espirito Santo is emerging as a leading candidate at the Emirates Stadium with the Arsenal boss' position being considered on a game by game basis.

Emery is among the bookies favourite to be the next manager to be sacked in the Premier League.

Plenty of Arsenal supporters are calling on the club’s hierarchy to part company with their head coach after Saturday’s last-gasp 2-2 draw with Southampton.

Just a few days ago, recently sacked Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino was the favourite to be the next Arsenal manager with the bookmakers, who priced him up at evens to replace Emery at the helm.

Former Gunner Mikel Arteta was the second favourite at 5/1, with former Liverpool and Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez third favourite at 6/1.

However, Espirito Santo is now the 10/11 with Sky Bet to become the next head coach at the Emirates, with Arsenal first team coach Freddie Ljungberg the second favourite at 4/1, the same price as ex-Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri

Pochettino has drifted to fourth favourite is Pochettino at 6/1, while former captain Mikel Arteta is priced at 10/1.

Wolves are currently fifth in the Premier League – three places above Arsenal.
