Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo opens up on his 'huge admiration' for Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp

Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo has spoken of the 'huge admiration' he has for Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp.

Nuno’s side face the reigning Premier League champions at Molineux on Monday night as both clubs aim to get their Premier League campaigns back on track.

Wolves are without a win in their last three Premier League games, and come into the game on the back of a 0-0 draw with rivals Aston Villa last weekend.

And although Liverpool did beat RB Leipzig in the Champions League on Wednesday night, their domestic form has also been poor in recent weeks, with a 1-0 defeat at home to Fulham last weekend the latest in a long line of disappointing results.

But despite the Reds' poor run of form, the Wolves boss is still wary of the threat Jurgen Klopp’s side offer.

He said: “The quality, the talent and the achievements that the club and Jurgen have done is amazing and we’re going to face a very talented squad, a very good football team who have a fantastic approach and idea on the game.

“Not just every team, but everyone has ups and downs. It’s how you react from it and how you get through that which is important, and Liverpool, huge admiration.

“[4-0 loss at] Anfield was a long time ago, so many things have changed since then for both teams, it’s going to be a new game, a new challenge.

“It didn’t teach me anything. We faced a very tough opponent that was better than us in that game. The lessons that we take is from all the opponents and all the matches that we have.”

While the Wolves boss has also revealed that his side will be without Daniel Podence for the game, but Willy Boly could return having sat out his side’s last two matches with a hamstring problem.

“He’s closer, but he’s not yet with the group,” the Portuguese said on Podence.

“We don’t have a time. He’s improving, but he’s not been able to join yet, or even to start his individual sessions.

“It’s the same with (Fernando) Marcal also. We still have some issues, new issues. It’s always like that.”
