Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo on talk he and Graham Potter fancied by Spurs

Nuno Espirito Santo has promised there will be no repeat on Sunday of Wolves ' previous surrender at home.

Wolves suffered the biggest home loss of Nuno's four-year reign last month in a 4-0 thumping by Burnley.

But Wanderers responded with a fighting display at Black Country rivals West Brom in a 1-1 derby draw on Monday night.

Nuno is confident his side have the right attitude ahead of fellow strugglers Brighton's visit to Molineux.

The Portuguese coach said: “Attitude and the willingness to fight every minute of your strength is non-negotiable and must stick.

“That is still with us.

“I truly believe the Burnley game was a one-off.

“I hope it doesn't happen again.

“We have four games left and it is an opportunity for everybody.”

Nuno and his opposite number at Brighton, Graham Potter, have both been heavily linked with the Spurs vacancy.

But asked if either could be distracted, Nuno replied: “No.

“All the managers in the Premier League have their own philosophies and are very talented managers.”

Nuno has taken Wolves from the Championship since arriving in May 2017 and into Europe via successive seventh place finishes.

Progress has stalled this term in 12th amid long-term injuries to key men like Raul Jimenez and Jonny.

Nuno insisted: “I think we should be very proud of the work we have been doing together as a pack.

“All the players since the start of the Championship and members of the club helped, always looking for improvement of the team and the club.

“I think we have been able to improve throughout the seasons even though the table this season doesn't reflect that.

“But the way we have been able to deal with situations as a group and realising we have to work together, I am very proud.

“My assessment in terms of success is totally different to the expectations of the fans.”
