Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui handed double injury boost ahead of Nottingham Forest clash

Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Julen Lopetegui is set to welcome some players back ahead of the Premier League with Nottingham Forest this weekend.

The Reds will return to action on the back of a 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United, prior to the international break. Steve Cooper's side are winless in their past six league games, with their last victory dating back to early February against Leeds United.

Wolves are in a similar position, having won just one of their previous five matches. An interesting affair awaits between the sides with only one point separating them in the table, in what is becoming an extremely tight relegation battle.

Lopetegui will be without Jonny Otto due to suspension and Hwang Hee-chan who is still nursing a hamstring injury sustained last month.

Meanwhile, Matheus Nunes is expected to be available, after receiving a red card in the 4-2 defeat against Leeds. The decision was appealed by Wolves and has since been rescinded by the Football Association.

Boubacar Traore is also set to return, will Lopetegui confirming: "He will be ready [after the international break] to compete with the rest of the players. He is a fighter and has big energy, and will be a good player for us."

Diego Costa on the other hand, remains a doubt after suffering a knee injury, while long-term absentees include Sasa Kalajdzic and Chiquinho.

The Forest squad, meanwhile, have also been hit by an injury crisis. Brennan Johnson (groin), Serge Aurier (knock), Andre Ayew (knee), Ryan Yates (shoulder), Chris Wood (thigh), Wayne Hennesey (unknown), Scott McKenna (hamstring), Willy Boly (hamstring), Dean Henderson (thigh), Taiwo Awoniyi (groin), Cheikhou Kouyate (torn hamstring), Omar Richards (hairline fracture of leg) and Giulian Biancone (anterior cruciate ligament) are all either out or doubtful for the Wolves game.
