Wolves are being shown a seen from this Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson movie to show that humans are scary

If there is one scene from a Noah Baumbach movie to make a meme of, it is the fight scene in Marriage Story. The scene features Nicole (Scarlett Johansson) and Charlie (Adam Driver) screaming at each other and ends with him punching a wall.

Since the film’s release in 2019, the scene has often been featured online when one is upset or annoyed by a situation. Mainly with images of Adam Driver or one image of a crying Johansson. But now, apparently, the scene is being used to traumatize another group: Wolves. According to a report issued by the Wall Street Journal, the USDA is using the scene with Charlie and Nicole fighting to show the wolves that humans are scary.

“Riding to the rescue are drone cowhands, whose quadcopters have thermal cameras that can reveal any wolf lurking in the darkness and bathe it in a spotlight. A loudspeaker broadcasts alarming sounds like fireworks, gunshots and people arguing. One recording is of the fight between Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver in the movie Marriage Story,” the report said.

The reason behind it? “I need the wolves to respond and know that, hey, humans are bad,” a USDA district supervisor in Oregon said to the publication. And look, if you’ve seen the scene, you know that the wolves would probably back away from us slowly.

I get it. I do. If I was a wolf and I saw Adam Driver punching a wall and telling a woman that he wished that she was dead so he didn’t have to deal with her ever again, I’d also think that they were really beings to mess with. But it is hilarious that the film has gone as far as being used to deter wolves from interacting with us.

So if you’ve ever wanted to hang out with wolves, you can blame Noah Baumbach for them being afraid of you.
