Manchester United's hopes of a Premier League top-four finish took a serious hit as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's 10-man Red Devils fell to a 2-1 defeat against Wolves.
United were knocked out of the FA Cup at Molineux last month, but started brightly on Tuesday night as Romelu Lukaku went close with an early header.
Scott McTominay clinically dispatched his first senior goal for United from range after 13 minutes, but Jesse Lingard soon missed a gilt-edged chance - and the visitors were made to pay.
Wolves capitalised on a mistake from Fred as Raul Jimenez slipped Diogo Jota through - with Ashley Young playing him onside - and the forward beat David de Gea well.
United's confidence deserted them, and with Young sent off after the break for a lunge on Jota, Wolves added a second as Chris Smalling bundled the ball into his own net after more poor defending.
The result leaves United in fifth place in the table, handing top four rivals Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea a massive boost for the run-in.
